The challenge
Stichting ParkinsonFonds (SPF) wants to position itself as the leading knowledge authority on Parkinson’s disease. Although the condition receives a lot of media attention, reliable, science-based information about it often gets overlooked. The foundation therefore looked for an innovative way to share knowledge, raise awareness and encourage donations.
The approach
Together with Stichting ParkinsonFonds, Hibou developed the AI chatbot James, a digital human inspired by the British physician James Parkinson. James has been trained on 25 years of relevant publications and makes complex medical knowledge understandable for a broad audience. And he does so in more than 25 languages. Patients and anyone interested can ask him anything about the disease via the foundation’s website. This makes him a future-proof channel for fundraising and education.
The result
With the launch of the digital human, Hibou achieved a first, which received national and regional media coverage, from AD to nu.nl. Research commissioned by Adformatie also showed that 35% of respondents have a more positive view of SPF after seeing the AI chatbot. The foundation’s image as a progressive source of knowledge received a significant boost.
The Synths
